Is chivalry dead?

Call me old fashioned, but I expect my door to be opened for me, a gentelmen waiting for me to sit before he does, you know the common courtesy manners. Heres my problem. I met a guy a couple of weeks ago and we spoke, but nothing serious. We then went our separate ways for the rest of the nigt. At the end of the night, he came up to my friend, and asked why I didnt come talk to HIM!!! What? I'm the girl- HELLO?!?!?I understand that its probably hard for the guy to be confident and go up to the girl and be the initiator, but get over it. Maybe someone can shed some light on this matter. hmm...

TOTALLY AGREE!!! I am the same way and expect the same things. Those were all things that I used to look for when I dated. And to my surprise, most of the guys I dated were a gentleman, but there are always a select few who DO NOT get it. I do think that you should not compromise how you feel whether or not other people think your being too picky. You know what you want and you deserve someone who will treat you right! I do think that most of the time it has to do with a guys upbringing though. I have already let my husband know that if we do have a boy when we have children, he will be taught from a very young age to treat a lady like a lady and be a gentlemen!

Chivalry is dead! OK, I am sure that there may be some, lone guy out there that knows how to open the car door for me or politely take the check when it's left on our table, but he's not my man and I haven't come across one like him...ummm, ever! I love my honey like there is no tomorrow but chivalry is just not a part of our relationship and never has been. Is it his fault for being this way or my fauly for allowing it?!?!?!?
